It should be apparent by now, but I’m trying to feel healthier and lose weight by being more active.

I’m not doing that by focusing on a single activity, no. I’ll be focusing on a split of activities.

This split is slightly based on the methodology of Nick Bare, whom I also referenced yesterday.

The goal is to be a powerful hybrid athlete. My dream is to one day complete an ultra-marathon and do a handstand while also being able to squad 350 pounds 5 times in a row.

To become this beast of a man, my food intake is essential, which will surely be shared in later posts, but the training schedule is equally important.

So, for the next three months, I’m focussing on the following exercises:

Weight training once per week.
For the first three months, I will focus primarily on body weight and barbell exercises with the eventual long-term goal of being able to hold a handstand for 30 seconds.

Running will be done 4x per week.
I’m running this much for the next three months because I will need to build an aerobic base while I’m still not too heavy because of increased muscle tissue. The eventual goal is to complete a marathon below 4.5 hours.

Doing a 40 min yoga routine once per week
I believe flexibility is vital to feeling great while still training hard, and I love how mind-clearing and meditative vinyasa yoga makes me feel. It’s the ultimate sport to relax my mind.

In my current state, I haven’t done any bodyweight training before, so I will need to establish a base for that type of training, and I will be sharing those base results here for reference.

For running, it’s different. I’ve been running for the past four weeks, and you must remember that I come from nothing with running.

So currently, My best stats for running are the ones below for a run that was yesterday:

Not the best pacing, no impressive distance, none of that.

But it’s a starting point. It’s a low place to grow from, and there is much way up to grow, so I’m excited.

It feels like the start of something great.

I already feel way better mentally in the past weeks just because I’ve been outside, in the sun, and I’ve been moving my body.

I need to keep this up and stick to it.

It might actually change my life.

Have a good one, as always kemo sabe.
